The Student Teachers

Poster Gallery

By August of '78 we were flying high. Half of us were still 16 years old. Phillip and I were still going to High School in Mamaroneck, Bill and Laura still attending Friends Seminary in NY...not sure if Lori was still in school.

We had gotten reviewed in the NME (New Musical Express) who called us the "Teen Tyroes of the New York Music Scene," and Robert Christgau referred to us as "rather more poppish" than the Erasers, for whom we were the opening band. Lori and Laura were also their roadies.
We'd been officially adopted by them and Richard Hell and the Voidoids as 'favorite opening act'.
